“You must hate me. I wouldn’t blame you if you did.” Blue finally told him after a long silence.
No, Matthias thought. He could never hate this man, no matter what he did, somehow knowing that it wasn’t his fault. Blue probably couldn’t help but blame himself, lost in his own thoughts since they’d left the club. He had wanted to reassure the blonde, but was afraid to push until he was ready, understanding too well how it felt to hurt so deeply.
He almost didn’t need to know everything. It was written in Blue and his father’s eyes, their deep devotion to each other, the underlying love they felt inside, the pain they felt hurting each other. Matthias felt their family connection to each other as if he were one of them, their stubbornness, their strength of will…
He wanted to take Blue’s pain away, to reassure him that everything would be okay, that he didn’t hate him at all, that he never could…
Blue turned to face the brunette as he suddenly reached out to halt his steps on the street as they were walked home, unable to meet his eyes.
“No, Blue. I don’t hate you. I never could. I understand why you didn’t tell me. You weren’t obligated to, anyway. We barely know each other after all.” Matthias told him.
Blue nodded. “That’s true, but the fact that I was never honest with you, after what we’ve shared…you deserved better than the way he regarded you back there.” Blue said shamefully.
Matthias pulled him closer then, Blue’s fingers warm within his own. There was a softness in his face as he looked upon Matthias, a desire to be needed that the brunette shared.
Matthias laughed nervously. “I’m used to not being someone that everyone likes, Blue. I’m okay with that. Your feelings are the ones I care about.” he told him.
Blue stared at him then. “Matthias…” he whispered.
Matthias kissed him then, a brief meeting of the lips that took his breath away, that made him want so much more from this man, needing it almost, returning the kiss as if he were feverish, pulling the brunette into his embrace.
It was as consuming as always, their kiss, as if nothing else existed except for the two of them. It wasn’t until this very moment that Blue fully appreciated everything about Matthias, the softness of his dark hair in between his fingers, the leanness of his back, the curve of his waist, the way he kissed as if he wanted to consume him, how Blue felt helpless to resist, how all he wanted was to be in this man’s arms forever…
“Matthias….I’m afraid. It’s hard to admit even to myself, but yes, I’m terrified to the core of my being. I have done terrible things in the name of this family that I’m ashamed of, things that I believed were just because I never considered questioning it until now.” Blue told him.
Matthias stared at him then, nodding silently, knowing that it was important for Blue to say these things to him.
“I’m afraid because I know what’s expected of me, what my father wants from me. He wants me to continue his legacy, to lead after he’s gone, and I…don’t want that life. I never did. I want different things for myself than that, and I’m afraid what its going to cost me.” Blue confessed.
Matthias nodded again, understanding Blue’s worst fear, even if he couldn’t speak the words. He was afraid that his father would try to harm him, to treat him as expendable just like the rest, his own flesh and blood. And this…this was a pain he wasn’t sure even he could heal…
Blue stared at him, fear and trepidation in his eyes, a hope that Matthias did not pity him, but rather that he understood what he was going through, and that perhaps still cared for him despite that…
“Blue…will you come home with me? Just for tonight? It doesn’t have to mean anything, or it can mean everything if you want. I just want to be with you.” Matthias told him.
Blue sighed, grateful. “There’s nothing in this world that I want more, Matthias.” he told him.
Even though the night had a chill in the air, Blue’s hand in his as they walked back to his modest chateau was more than enough, his room welcoming as they arrived, the two men clinging to each other in their need once the door closed.
Matthias barely registered the solidness of the wood against his back compared to the weight of the blonde in his embrace, their mouths hungry and yielding to each other’s. it was if the buttons on their shirts were a hindrance to their urgency, the need to touch each others skin like a hunger almost.
Blue knew. He knew it had never been like this, had never been like this with anyone ever, this slow, undying passion he felt towards this man, needing to hear his cries as if they were a song, needing his touch as if he were starved for it.
He needed this man desperately, needed everything he had to offer and more, he needed his hot, wet mouth, his persistent touch, hearing his own moans echo within the depths of him, the brunette’s body and soul feeling as if it were home.
The way that Matthias looked at him, it was as if he understood completely, the way they fell into each others arms onto Matthias’ bed, the brunette’s fingers delving into his hair to pull him close, to kiss him once again, hands exploring as they kissed each other without end, their mouths languid beneath each others touch, their eyes meeting as they gazed upon each other.
It was if his pain no longer existed, as if just being in this man’s arms had cured him of his ache, Blue needing desperately to taste of him, of the salty sweet taste of his skin, his soft, warm stomach, the sweetness of his narrow hips as their eyes met once again, Matthias watching him with fondness and complete trust in his eyes.
“Please, please, Blue, I need you. I need you more than you know…” Matthias told him quietly.
Blue smiled then, pinning Matthias beneath him, their fingers intertwined, their sleek, warm bodies with no barriers left between, as if they were one. Blue kissed him once again, soundly, Matthias melting into him completely.
Blue nodded then, taking everything Matthias was willing to offer, the brunette his for his taking, for always…
Matthias’ eyes widened as the older man in question walked into the room, commanding it with his mere presence.
“Hello, Blue. I would have to agree with your friend, that you sounded as perfect as you always do just now. Yet somehow whenever I show up at the club to work, I always manage to leave my trash at home. It’s a shame really.” he said in a pitiful tone.
Blue narrowed his eyes then, at his fathers remark, noticing Matthias choke slightly, yet recover quickly.
“Please forgive me if I’m intruding, sir. Your son invited me.” he said quickly.
Monsieur Fantaisie nodded. “Perhaps we should all speak privately.” he said to them both.
Blue nodded, understanding completely, unwilling to defy the man who was staring at Matthias with an undiscernable look on his face…
“Surely you must be joking, Blue? You really believe that I would offer a job to this man? You should know me better by now, son. This sickly young man has no place in the syndicate!” Blue’s father told him sternly.
Matthias stiffened. Everything made sense now and he wasn’t sure what to think of it. It didn’t change his feelings for Blue, not even remotely. He understood that this was the family that Blue was born into, a crime syndicate family, the name Renfle had spoken the night before Blue’s true legacy.
It did frighten him, though. He couldn’t imagine that Blue could be involved with such things, the kind, gentle spirit he had come to know, his Blue Devon, not this Enchante’ Fantaisie he barely knew.
He could barely even meet the blonde’s eyes, seeing the turmoil there, knowing that he hasn’t told Matthias everything, that he hadn’t wanted to. Matthias didn’t blame him. It was easy to understand, being torn between obligation to family and wanting to be someone else entirely.
“He’s not sickly, Father, and I resent you being so vile towards him. He’s a diabetic. It’s a medical condition.” Blue told him.
Monsieur Fantaisie’s eyebrows at Blue’s tone. “Yes, I’m well aware of what diabetes is, Blue, and I won’t tolerate you using that tone with me…so, your name is Matthias? Blue has told me very little about you.” he said, addressing the brunette.
Matthias nodded. “Yes. Forgive me for not introducing myself. My name is Matthias Sherry. Blue and I haven’t known each other very long, but I can tell he has a good heart.” he told him.
Monsieur Fantaisie shook his head reluctantly, narrowing his eyes at Blue. “I would say its a pleasure, young Matthias, but from what I can see, I think you and Blue need to talk about some things before you grace these doors once again. I will assume we have an understanding, Blue?” he said firmly.
At that moment, in Club Fantasy’s immaculate office where he sat nearby the two men, one he cared for very much, the other very much a stranger, Matthias knew better than to utter a word. This was Blue’s moment and he wasn’t about to interfere, knowing somehow things were about to change for all of them forever…
As flattered as he was, Matthias simply couldn’t allow Blue to go through all the trouble of making chateubriand just for him.
“You’ve done so much for me already, Blue. The pot au feu the cooks are preparing for tonight will be enough.” he told him.
Blue nodded, almost grateful for his refusal, considering that he still had sound check for his performance later, and the fact that his father would question him about Matthias. Yet he still needed to give the frail brunette his medication, coaxing him into his dressing room and locking the door.
There seemed to be an almost desperate hunger in the blonde’s eyes as he made Matthias comfortable on the settee nearby, the brunette deciding where he wanted the needle.
Somehow he understood Blue’s need, his body temperature rising as he loosened his dress pants to allow Blue to administer the medicine to the top of his hip.
“Matthias…you’re blushing. Are you alright?” Blue asked him.
Matthias laughed nervously as Blue smiled at him. “It’s just that…I was remembering being with you last night, and I’ve never felt like that with anyone before…all I can think about is how much I need you to kiss me, how much I need you to touch me, Blue.” he breathed out.
Blue smiled again. “Where do you want me to touch you?” he asked him.
Matthias found that his words failed him, as Blue seemed to just know what he needed, caressing his hands against the loosened material at Matthias’ waist, the blonde’s mouth a whisper away from his, his breath tickling his skin.
His kiss…oh gods his kiss…it was like everything perfect that had ever existed, Matthias groaning helplessly as Blue combined that with his firm touch, the brunette a willing victim to Blue’s desire for him.
“Please, Blue, please…” he cried, as the blonde parted from him, to relieve him of the offending material, his mouth soft and warm against his most fervent ache.
Pleasure like this…could easily turn him into a religious man, his fingers clutching Blue’s soft blonde hair, their shared sighs almost like an echo.
“Oh Blue…oh please, please kiss me once again…” Matthias pleaded, nearly overcome as Blue plundered the brunette’s mouth with abandon, finding no barriers between them as he clung to the blonde desperately, the two men losing themselves completely to each other…
Blue had left his side reluctantly after that, asking the nightclub cooks if they would see to getting Matthias something to eat, leaving him a searing kiss so as to not forget him.
As if he could…Matthias feared even the thought of losing this man, this beautiful blonde that had stolen his heart and made him feel such wonderful, blissful things. Even being in Blue’s presence felt like he had been invited to paradise, their intimacy like experiencing heaven itself.
Watching Blue as he ran through his sound check onstage, Matthias suddenly couldn’t help but notice how different Club Fantasy seemed.
It was if that night with that street musician had never even happened, the club beautiful once again in its splendor, Blue’s mere presence making the place radiant beyond measure…
“How is the food?” Blue asked him, startling Matthias out of his daydream.
Matthias smiled. “It’s good, thank you. You sound good too. Your voice is amazing.” he told him.
To his surprise, Blue actually blushed bright crimson. “Thank you, Matthias. That means a lot. I have someone I’d like to introduce you to, whenever you’re ready.” he told him from the stage.
Matthias nodded, finishing his drink and wiping his mouth and hands with his napkin. “Oh? Who is that?” he asked him.
Blue nodded, his eyes noticing the man in question in the back of the room. “My father.” he said.
He wasn’t used to having a nice, warm body to curl up to at night. It wasn’t as if he was the type to sleep around, after all, despite his reputation.
Blue hadn’t saved himself for that right person, definitely not, but it seemed as though the right person had been saved for him.
Matthias was perfect, he literally could find no flaws about him. His prone sleeping form was just so angelic, his unclothed body only just barely covered by Blue’s flimsy sheets, his skin pale yet soft.
He knew he would have to wake the brunette soon, feed him enough that he could give him his medicine without concerns. He even considered taking him to work with him, allowing his lover to partake of the club’s delicacies.
He knew exactly what his father would think of Matthias. He really only cared about what happened in Blue’s life as it pertained to his own, tolerating his love of performing and other interests as long as they weren’t distractions.
Blue understood his obligations to his family and the syndicate, even if he didn’t agree with it, happy that Matthias was indeed a delightful distraction from all of that.
He just wanted to go back to bed, curl his body back into Matthias’, and live out his days in the brunette’s soothing embrace, smoothing his hands across Matthias’ exposed flesh, unwilling to resist doing so.
“I hope you know I could get used to this too easily, Blue, being awakened by my lover’s touch…all I’m missing is a lingering kiss…” Matthias told him with a smile.
“There’s nothing I want more, other than you always.” Blue told him with a soft voice.
Matthias sat up to meet him halfway, his arms encircling Blue’s shoulders as the blonde caught and held him close, the two men sharing a deep, intimate kiss.
“Are you hungry?” Blue asked him, once they parted from their kiss.
Matthias smiled softly. “Only for you.” he told him.
Blue laughed, making his lover laugh as he buried his head in the brunette’s neck, kissing him there. “Such lovely sentiment…but you need to eat something, right? Before you take your medication? Why don’t you come to work with me? I can have the club’s cooks make something special for you.” Blue told him.
Matthias nodded. “I would love to. Do I have enough time to take a shower?” he asked.
Blue smiled. “Yes. I’d join you, but we’d never leave for work then and as much as I would love to, my father would never forgive me.” he told him.
Matthias nodded, understanding completely, pulling Blue in for one last kiss before leaving his side to get ready for the day. Blue shook his head, bewildered as always in a good way at how much he enjoyed their every stolen moment, not allowing his concerns over Matthias meeting his father to overwhelm him…
Matthias shivered. He wasn’t sure if he would be able to bear Blue touching him the way he did, his hands’ movements as sensual as his kiss was. He knew it would be angonizingly slow, like a whisper almost, against his needy skin, Blue unable to control the urge to lave with his mouth where his hands had been.
He mustn’t know how much I want him, or see the tears in my eyes, Matthias thought, his physical ache indeed that fierce.
He knew that he couldn’t have resisted even if he wanted to.
Because there was nothing even remotely subtle about Blue, period.
Every move, every touch, every kiss, everything about Blue’s seduction of him…Matthias couldn’t help but shudder helplessly as the blonde relieved him of his button down shirt, one button at a time, at a maddeningly slow, sultry pace.
His skin felt incredibly hot, his breath shaky as he felt Blue’s mouth just below his ear, nuzzling his throat, tasting the brunette’s skin with his tongue before applying the oil soon after.
“I want you so badly, Matthias…I think you can tell how much, yes? I hope you’ll forgive me for being torn between wanting to make slow, passionate love to you and ravishing you until always.” Blue purred in his ear.
Matthias bit back a moan. “Kiss me please, Blue. Just for a moment.” he pleaded.
Blue smiled as he turned Matthias to face him, his eyes softening as he reached out to touch his face gently, capturing his lips with his own.
Matthias allowed Blue to deepen the kiss immediately, needing him desperately, each of their hands exploring each other’s bodies as they lost themselves in each other.
Blue held him as if he were precious, as if he meant everything to him, yet took complete and utter control of their kiss, their quickly shed clothing only a hindrance.
Renfle’s gift had indeed been a wicked excuse to touch, but the two men needed no prompting, marveling at the feel of each other’s naked flesh, fingers delving into the soft curves of backs and beyond, strong, masculine thighs, all warmth and lean muscle, knowing somehow as Blue held Matthias’ hands down beneath his, the two of them entwined in each other’s arms in his bed, that something in both of them had changed, something amazing, their eyes only on each other, something life changing…

This is what Matthias had been waiting for all night, this perfect kiss, the one where it felt as though the music had stopped even though they were still dancing, the one that took his breath away even though he felt as though he was breathing to begin with.
It was like time had stopped, and he and Blue were the only ones in existence, the kiss between them just so perfect and right. It was as if fate demanded that he reach up and grab a handful of Blue’s soft blonde hair, as if he might escape otherwise.
But the blonde harbored no such desire he hoped, as into the kiss as he was, deepening the kiss between them with a sharp groan, unwilling even to part for a second.
Matthias felt himself become slightly lightheaded as the two men kissed each other senseless, Blue’s hands caressing his back, pulling him close for a sweet embrace as they finally parted.
“I hope you’ll forgive me, Matthias. I’m not sure I could ever get enough of you. I’ve never wanted someone so much in my life.” Blue groaned out.
Matthias bit his lower lip to keep from groaning himself, his lungs and chest heaving, his body heated and sure. “Perhaps we should try out the gift that Renfle gave us? As a way to cool our ardor for each other, focus more on pleasing each other?” he asked Blue.
Matthias smiled as Blue stroked his cheek sweetly. “I do like the way you think, so I guess I will let you go first.” Blue told him.
Matthias nodded, agreeing completely, hoping he could maintain his self control touching this beautiful man. Sitting down on Blue’s chateau floor, Blue allowed Matthias to undress him to the waist, the brunette enjoying how luminous Blue’s skin looked in the moonlight streaming in through the windows.
Pouring a small amount of the oil into his hands and warming it for a moment, Matthias started by stroking his fingers across the back of Blue’s neck to his shoulders. The blonde relaxed into the brunette’s touch with a sigh, laughing softly as Matthias pressed a kiss to his hairline.
“That feels amazing…please don’t be shy, Matthias. Please touch me wherever you like. I want you to.” Blue told him.
Matthias’ eyes darkened. “Where do you want me to touch you? You can tell me.” he teased back.
Blue couldn’t help but smile as the brunette continued his massage, knowing exactly how much oil to use and where to use it, his touch stimulating and very, very arousing.
“I can show you instead…” Blue said, reaching for Matthias’ hands.
The brunette allowed Blue to run his hands across the blonde’s lean chest down to his flat stomach, coming to rest at his waist. Threading their fingers together, he felt Matthias’ breath catch as they unbuttoned Blue’s dress pants, the zipper next as he showed Matthias exactly what he needed beneath the loosened material.
“Oh gods, Blue…you’re so warm, it’s almost unbearable. I can’t even find words…” Matthias gasped out, utterly lost.
Blue flushed hot from the intimacy of the contact, moaning helplessly. “Oh please yes…let me touch you now before I lose my mind completely…please…” Blue gritted out.
Spellbound.
It was the most fitting description he could think of to express what Blue made him feel, his voice, his looks, his presence, his everything…even the touch of his hands made Matthias feel almost tentative, when he and Blue left the club a few hours later, Renfle presenting them with a gift as his thanks for their performance.
“It’s a massage oil that I made myself. I hope you’ll like it. It’s very exotic and spicy, I made it with ginger, myrrh, jasmine and cardamom.” he told them with a smile.
Blue had thanked his old friend, parting with an embrace, offering his hand once again to his paramour.
Even though Renfle had been right to assume that they would indeed appreciate his gift, Matthias couldn’t help but blush at the possibilities.
He had already seen Blue almost completely undressed and the thought of caressing his skin with that oil, subtle hints lingering against his warm flesh…it was far too arousing to consider.
“It always seems to take forever to return home. I feel restless for some reason.” Blue bemoaned the fates.
Matthias understood completely. He felt on edge and excited, not sure what was going to happen, but not wanting to be anywhere else. Especially when Blue smiled and pressed a kiss against the back of their joined hands.
“I’ve always wanted to make love outside underneath the stars…you would look so glorious with the moonlight glistening off your naked skin, Matthias.” Blue told him.
Matthias blushed furiously. “Blue…you shouldn’t say such things.” he mocked chastised him.
Blue laughed. “And to think that’s probably the most modest thought in my head right now. I hope you will forgive me my hopeless desire for you.” he said.
Matthias nodded, squeezing the blonde’s hand with a smile. He too was contemplating what was to come, willing to follow wherever Blue was to lead.
Parting as they arrived at Blue’s chateau, the blonde politely held the door open for his dinner companion, watching him as he took off his dinner jacket and laid it gently down on one of Blue’s chairs.
Blue smiled and did the same, unbuttoning his dress shirt to get more comfortable, now that they were alone, slight awkwardness was setting in.
“Come here, please? I’d really like to kiss you again, if you wouldn’t mind?” Blue asked the brunette, beckoning him closer.
Matthias smiled as he took Blue’s offered hands to pull him close, the blonde resting them at Matthias’ waist. “Why do you hesitate? I can’t imagine you being nervous.” Matthias teased him.
Blue smiled. “I’m savoring the moment, before I lose my mind completely and ravish you for days. I’m not sure how much self control I have when it comes to you.” he told him.
Matthias smiled. “Please, please kiss me, Blue. I’m not sure I can wait anymore.” he sighed.
Blue smiled, making Matthias sigh as he skimmed his fingers against the brunette’s mouth. “Oh, but waiting only intensifies desire, don’t you know? Perhaps I should sing to you and see how much you really need me…lips so soft and moist, and tender to the touch, how he lingers for a kiss…” Blue began to sing.
Matthias could feel himself begin to shake a little, partly in anticipation, Blue’s voice like heaven so very, very close to him. Then he felt Blue’s breath mingle with his, his song lost in the moment…
His mother had always told him that once a man revealed all the sides of himself to someone, that was when you knew whether or not you were meant to be.
Matthias had always believed that, even though he had never experienced it until now.
He had always worried that he’d be disappointed once this happened, afraid that he’d see something in someone that he just couldn’t tolerate.
Blue Devon was none of these things.
Even though he had yet to see him angry, all of his other wonderful qualities would certainly overshadow that. He imagined that Blue would be fiercely sexy and protective, like he was when he tended to him.
He could see that Blue was loyal and friendly, and that people cared about him, that he had made an impact on people’s lives. Even though I barely know the man, Matthias thought, I already feel as though he’s a part of me, and maybe he might feel the same way…
“Are you nervous?” Blue asked him, carefully adjusting the minutiae details of Matthias’ costume with a smile.
Matthias blushed furiously. “Not really. I’m actually really excited. This will be my first time performing in front of such a huge crowd. It’s almost overwhelming.” he laughed.
Blue’s eyes softened. “Come here.” he told him, enveloping the brunette into his embrace.
Was this real, was Blue’s heart really racing just as fast as my own, Matthias wondered. The blonde seemed so cool, calm and collected. It was truly hard to believe that he might be nervous too…
“We’re going to go out there and do this together, you and me. I believe in us, Matthias. I really do.” Blue told him.
Matthias nodded with a smile, taking Blue’s hand in his as they parted, waiting for Renfle to announce them.
“Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Club Absolue! It is a pleasure to have you with us tonight! Unfortunately our regular act will not be able to perform tonight, but we are actually in luck! We have the debut of a fantastic new duet act that I just know you’ll want to hear! Please allow me to welcome…Blue Sherry!” Renfle shouted.
“Did he call us Blue Sherry?” Matthias whispered.
Blue smiled. “I think so. I like it. Come on, we’re on.” he told him, the two of them taking the stage.
“You call me courageous, but I’m really, really not, I’m afraid that you’ll condemn me for what I feel inside…” Blue sang, leading Matthias into the song.
Matthias couldn’t imagine anyone condemning this gorgeous man and his amazing voice, hoping that he could even begin to do this song justice beside him…
“You are like an angel to me, blissful and free, and idioms and knowledge don’t mean a thing…” Matthias sang.
Blue was awestruck. This man could command much bigger audiences than this, even he himself paled in comparison…where had he been hiding this voice, he wondered…
“When I’m entangled in your sweet mystery, and I dare not escape…you bring such beauty to my heart…” Blue sang.
Such heartfelt emotion…it almost brought tears to his eyes. Matthias felt as though he could easily succumb if it hadn’t been for Blue captivating him completely…
“I cannot bear for us to part, so forgive me my sins, if I promise to be a better man…” Matthias sang.
Blue couldn’t fathom of this man before him committing any unforgivable sin, unless it was to break another’s heart just with his voice alone…
“I promise I’m not bragging when I say I need you to breathe…” Blue sang, taking Matthias’ hands in his.
Matthias smiled as he accepted, not wanting to be anywhere else.
“Because even though I’m afraid of your sweet mystery…I’m certain that we can solve this together as one…” Matthias sang…
